Liposome C (Liposomal Encapsulated Vitamin C)

from $143.86

Liposome C (Liposomal Encapsulated Vitamin C) features Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate in a Liposomal Delivery System (LDS), offering a highly effective addition to skin care products. For Vitamin C to be effective, it must penetrate the Corneocyte Layer to reach deeper skin layers, a process facilitated by the LDS.

Liposomal Delivery Systems are microscopic vesicles with an aqueous center and a phospholipid membrane. These phospholipid walls, identical to human cell membranes, consist of glycerol bonded to essential fatty acids and a phosphate group. The hydrophobic fatty acids are oriented outward in the lipid bilayer, while the hydrophilic phosphate group faces the aqueous interior. Liposomes range in size from 150 to 3500 nm and can be unilamellar or multilamellar. Our unilamellar liposomes are exceptionally stable, making them ideal for incorporation into personal care products.

Liposomes help restore balance in the stratum corneum (the top six cellular layers) by providing prolonged hydration and enhanced delivery of encapsulated actives, ensuring they reach the target layers.

Ascorbic acid, a key form of Vitamin C, is known for inhibiting melanin formation and promoting collagen synthesis. However, its poor stability limits its use in cosmetic products. Liposome C solves this issue by delivering Vitamin C to the target layers without stability concerns, thanks to the protective liposomal encapsulation.

Vitamin C actives are widely used in cosmetics for their anti-aging, anti-oxidant, and skin-lightening properties. They prevent dry skin, sunburn, chloasma, and ephelides while promoting healthy, youthful skin. Classic anti-wrinkle lotions often rely on Vitamin C as their primary anti-aging ingredient. Liposome C is particularly effective in these applications, and its performance can be further enhanced by combining it with Sodium Lactate or Lactic Acid, which significantly reduces hyperpigmentation.

Stabilizing Vitamin C in formulations is challenging due to its high oxidative nature, which can lead to free radical formation. Liposome C overcomes this by providing stabilized Vitamin C that penetrates the top skin layers, delivering benefits to the tissues rather than remaining in the dead layers. This ensures a more effective and safer use of Vitamin C in anti-aging and anti-oxidant products.
